On September 16, 1995, a Mad River man slipped on the stern deck of a schooner, catching his left foot under a bait elevator and hyper-extending his knee.  The following month, he underwent knee surgery, followed by several months of recuperation.  Upon returning to fishing, his symptoms persisted.  After struggling through two seasons, he followed the recommendation of his orthopedic surgeon and gave up his commercial fishing career.

CASE RESOLUTION:  Settled for $300,000.00
