Salmon, Idaho Man Injured at Sea:
In February, 1991, while engaged in his duties aboard a fishing vessel, a Salmon, Idaho man fell from a catwalk to the factory floor below. On the way down, he hit his head on the stairs or some other obstruction. He landed face down. He hit with sufficient force to shatter the ear protection he was wearing and crack two molar teeth. It is likely that he was unconscious for some period of time. When he resumed consciousness, he felt pain throughout his body, especially in his head, back and hand. As a result of his injuries, underwent back surgery in the form of a laminectomy. He was unable to return to fishing because of the long term physical restrictions and limitations imposed by his back condition.
