Ferry KALEETAN

Our client was a cook in a galley aboard a Washington State Ferry. While departing the vessel at the end of her shift, she slipped on an oily spot on the car deck ramp, injuring her leg. We brought suit on her behalf against her employer, the food service company, and the vessel owner, the State of Washington.

As the case was about to go to the jury, the defendants offered $45,000 in settlement, which we refused. The jury awarded $210,000 plus costs.
